Microchipping

Microchipping your pet will ensure they can be returned to you when they are found and scanned at the vet or rescue organisation.

Book an appointment today to get your pet microchipped and to register your contact details on the chip database.

What is pet microchipping?

A pet microchip is a tiny rice grain-sized implant that we inject into the loose folds of skin between your pet’s shoulder blades. Your contact details are then captured onto a database and registered with that microchip. If your pet goes missing and is picked up and taken to a vet or rescue organisation, scanning their microchip will reveal your contact details – giving you a direct link to your missing pet.

The microchip implant is permanent and cannot fall off or be removed like a dog collar and ID tag can.

Why should you microchip your pet?

Life’s circumstances can separate your pet from you – whether the result of pet theft, your pet running off while on a walk, getting spooked by a car accident, or simply escaping your yard. If your pet is microchipped, they will be scanned as soon as they reach a rescue organisation or a vet practice, making it relatively simple to be returned to you.

When should pets be microchipped?

Don’t wait. Have your pet microchipped as soon as possible! If your pet is already microchipped, double check that your most up-to-date contact details are registered on the chip manufacturer’s database.
