Deworming your pets will get rid of any hookworms, roundworms and tapeworms – internal parasites that may adversely affect pets’ health.

Book an appointment today to ask the vet about internal parasites and have your pet dewormed.

What is deworming?

Deworming involves giving your pet medicine (in the form of a liquid or tablet) that kills and removes the targeted worms from their system. If your pet has worms, it is unlikely that you will see them, so we encourage pet owners to take a preventative approach to worms and to deworm your pets regularly.

Why deworm your pets?

Intestinal parasites like worms attach to your pet’s intestines to absorb nutrients through their blood. This can cause digestive upset, malnourishment, anaemia, bloody stools, weight loss, abdominal distension, coughing, and it may even affect their vision and cause epilepsy.

Humans can also get worms from our pets, so for their health and yours, we advise that you deworm your pets regularly.

When should pets be dewormed?

Puppies and kittens should be dewormed regularly – every two to four weeks.

Dogs and cats should be dewormed every three months.

Ask the vet to recommend a deworming medicine and the correct schedule for your pet.
