We use an appointment booking system to give you a quick and efficient experience at the vet. There is no need to sit and wait in a queue when you can come in at your appointed time to see the vet. Appointments help us to plan our day constructively and to give you the time your pet deserves with the vet.
We require the full payment at the time of consultation. We accept cash, debit, and all major credit cards.
Should your pet be hospitalised with us, we require a 50% deposit of the cost estimate upon admission. The final balance is payable in full upon discharge, or on completion of treatment.
Sandton Vet Clinic does not run accounts and all payments should be up to date before leaving the practice.
At Sandton Veterinary Clinic, we aim to give you and your pets the best service possible while upholding the law. In this light, our policy regarding the dispensing of medication is as follows:
Veterinary medication may only be dispensed by a veterinarian or veterinary nurse.
Our vets are not always available to dispense medication, so we kindly request that you contact us in advance so that we can prepare your medication for collection.
Please give us 24 hours’ notice before you wish to collect your medication. On most occasions, however, if you contact us in the morning, we will be able to dispense the required medication in the afternoon.
A repeat prescription is only valid for six months, and we can only dispense medication for 30 days at a time. This means you will need to collect your pet’s medication monthly; we are unable, legally, to give you six months’ medication in advance.
We require that you bring your pet in every six months for a check-up before the next prescription can be dispensed.
Please give us 24 hours’ notice when you need to collect your pet’s repeat medication. This gives our veterinarians enough time to dispense the medication and not keep you waiting.
We highly recommend taking out a medical insurance policy for your pet/s. This will ensure that you have the financial resources to pay for your pet’s medical needs.
Please consider these insurance companies and take out a plan that works for you:
- Medipet: https://medipetsa.co.za,
- Petsure: https://petsure.co.za
- OnePlan: https://www.oneplan.co.za
- Dotsure: https://www.dotsure.co.za/pet-insurance
- Outsurance pet insurance https://www.outsurance.co.za/pet-insurance/
- Auto & General pet insurance: https://www.autogen.co.za/products/pet-insurance/
Each pet and pet owner’s needs will be different, so thoroughly research the available cover and sign up for a policy that meets your requirements.
You are required to settle your consultation and medical fees with Sandton Veterinary Clinic. The pet insurer will reimburse your payment directly to you. Please read your chosen provider’s policy details carefully to understand exactly how their cover works.
